RSS is my favorite way to read the internet - peacefully, with just the content I want to see and less algorithmic noise. I pay for Innoreader and I love it.
I especially love RSS for staying connected to local SF news. I have folders for Mission Local, SF Chronicle, Axios San Francisco, and more. It’s the best way to actually know what’s happening in your city, from people that actually live in your city.
How to subscribe
-
Pick a reader. I recommend Innoreader (free tier is great). Feedly (Mac/iOS, free) is also good.
-
Add my feed. Copy this URL and paste it into your reader’s “Add Feed” or “Subscribe” option:
https://www.joelreske.com/rss.xml -
That’s it. New posts will show up automatically.
Starter feeds if you’re in SF
Here are some of my favorites to get you started:
- Mission Local — deep neighborhood journalism
- Axios San Francisco — quick daily SF news
- SF Chronicle — the paper of record
- Hacker News (top links) — if you’re in tech
- News Minimalist — AI-curated global news, surprisingly good
